Moncrieff Astronomy Night August 2019
Date and time
Location
Dawson Park
Slim Dusty Circuit Moncrieff, ACT AustraliaDescription
Join us for a night under the stars run by the Canberra Astronomical Society. With a new moon making for darker skies, this is a great opportunity to look through a telescope at the night sky.
Come rugged up in winter warmers and bring along a torch and some cash to buy a warm drink from the coffee van.
The Canberra Astronomical Society will set up a number of large telescopes for you to look through, however you are welcome to bring your own as well if you would like.
We will be running 2 sessions over the night:
- 6.35pm to 7.10pm
- 7.15pm to 7.50pm
The event is free of charge although as it is run by volunteers, those wishing to make a gold-coin donation in support can do so on the night.
Please be aware there are no toilets facilities at the park.
Spots are limited, so make sure you register early to confirm your place.
Registering for the event will also make sure you are kept up to date with details, including a detailed event email a week before.
Please note this event is intended for the Moncrieff Community.
